Drainfield and Leach Field Installation

Drainfield and Leach Field Installation in Ocala

The drainfield is where treated effluent leaves the tank and returns to the soil, and it is the part of a septic system most likely to fail from age or overload. Marshaqualey builds gravel trench and plastic chamber fields sized directly from your perc rate, so water disperses underground instead of surfacing in the yard. A failing field near Silver Springs Shores is one of the most common calls we take.

Why the Perc Rate Drives the Design

Two lots a mile apart can need very different fields. Fast draining sand allows shorter trenches, while tighter soil needs more absorption area to move the same volume of effluent. We measure how quickly water drains and confirm the seasonal high water table, then size the field to match. Skipping that step is how an undersized field ends up soggy within a couple of seasons.

Our Process

After the perc test and permit, we excavate the trenches to grade, install the distribution box that splits flow evenly across the laterals, and lay perforated pipe over washed gravel or set gravelless plastic chambers. Non woven filter fabric keeps soil out of the aggregate, and the field is crowned and backfilled once the inspector approves it. When the water table sits high, we design an elevated mound to keep the required separation.
